Tutor a struggling reader with Reading Partners

Reading Partners is a national literacy nonprofit with a new affiliate in Colorado that partners with Title-1 schools to tutor struggling readers entirely through the help of volunteers.

Reading Partners is seeking volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with students at elementary schools in the Denver/Aurora area. Tutors commit to volunteering 1 hour a week, for at least a 3-month period. Tutors work with the same student every week, which allows tutors to build a relationship with the students and track their growth through the school year. Our studies show that on average students in the program gain 1.6 months of literacy growth for every 1-month they are with Reading Partners, effectively doubling their rate of learning.

In Aurora, Reading Partners is currently serving 10 students at Clyde Miller K-8 and 20 students at Sable Elementary. In order to serve more students in our Aurora partner schools, we would love to find more volunteers in the Aurora area who want to help serve our students! To sign up, visit the website at Colorado.readingpartners.org or call 720-409-9909.
