We would like to welcome a new addition to the Spark team, Will Colner! Will is joining Spark as a Skilled Social Media Marketing Volunteer, donating his time and talents to help us grow our marketing and outreach.
Growing up, Will volunteered at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles delivering flowers. This was an extremely rewarding experience for him, “because I got to see just how much joy people experienced when getting a bouquet from a loved one.”
“No matter the time of day, whenever I walked into a room with a flower delivery, I got to see the patient’s face light up and ask ‘who are those from?’. I really learned to love helping others through this experience, and am so happy to be doing more joy inspiring work with Spark!”
Will is proud to have recently received a Digital Marketing Certificate through the University of Denver. He worked hard three nights a week to pass with an A and is very grateful for the opportunity to put his newfound skills to the test with Spark!
Some of his hobbies include playing basketball and volleyball, as well as watching sports. He’s originally from LA, which means Denver fans don’t like him all that much, but he loves the competitiveness that Rockies, Nuggets, and Avs fans bring! He also enjoys learning about different cultures and experiencing new foods, traditions, and stories.
Will shares that he’s very excited to work with the Spark team for a few different reasons. First and foremost, he believes the work that Spark does is invaluable. Creating opportunities for free mental health services and the work that is done with the 50+ older adult community are both integral in creating a better, more loving world. “Being able to affect positive change in this way with the Spark team is very fulfilling for me, and contributing to such a great cause pushes me to be a better person every day!”
